Former Gogglebox star Amy Tapper shared the dark side of her whopping eight-stone weight loss on Thursday's Good Morning Britain.

The reality star, 26, has been open about her use of weight loss jabs to transform her body, documenting her progress on social media with her followers since June last year.

Sadly, the scrutiny has brought with it torrents of abuse from trolls, which have caused considerable damage to Amy's mental health.

At the peak of her weight loss Amt shed 5lbs within just one week of taking Mounjaro and six months later she had dropped 4st.

However, using the jabs lead some harsh critics to slam her for 'cheating' her way to a smaller frame.

Reflecting on the toll the abuse had taken, Amy told Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley:  'I do think of myself as strong minded and whatever they say to me I can say a lot worse about myself.

'But of course it affects you. No one is super human and I can be strong and confident, but when I’ve put all this work in, I do just kind of have to laugh about it'

Amy - who was shot to fame at just 13 years old alongside her family - has dropped from a size 26 to a size 18.

She credited Mounjaro with removing 'food noise' from her head, leaving her mind 'peaceful and quiet'.

She went on: 'I don’t have to think about anything, I don’t have to plan any diets in my head.

'I just know that I’ll listen to what is going on and that is it and it’s just a nice place to be.'

Sadly though, the efficacy of the jabs was overshadowed by some of the cruelty Amy faced in the comments sections below her posts.

'The online trolls come in and it sort of affects your peacefulness in your head. This eat less move more, it’s put there as some sort of an insult,' she added.

'But if you’re doing that with the weight loss medication side by side, it’s the most perfect pair so I don’t know why it’s bothering anyone.'

Amy admitted that her main coping mechanism was skimming over the comments, rather than replying and defending herself.

However, she noted that sometimes she was pleasantly surprised by the support she received.

'I don’t read them but I’ll tell you what it was, when the post got put up from our interview, I was reading the positive comments and I wanted to see that, the support and what everyone thinks,' she explained.

'I understand that everyone has opinions of it and as I scroll you see more and more and my phone was just popping off with it and you can’t help but sometimes it comes up.'

Next, Amy read out some of the vicious remarks that had been posted, with the words flashing up on screen as she spoke.

'I'll never be sympathetic for fat people who cannot be bothered to put the fork down to go to the gym,' one read.

Exasperated, Amy complained that it felt like it was impossible for her to win despite all of her hard work.

She urged others not to place too much power in the opinion of others.

'I think you’re doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t so why not just do it?' she concluded.

She said: 'People have problems when you aren¿t losing weight and problems when you do, however you are doing it shouldn¿t matter.' (pictured in 2018)

'If people have things to say at least you know you’re doing the right thing and you’re doing it for yourself and you’re doing it because you want to.

'If you are doing it because you want to then what anyone says should just go over your head.'

Amy previously revealed she had turned to weight loss jabs after she 'felt there was nothing else I could do' when she started using them in June 2024.

She told The Sun: 'I'm fitting into size 18 clothes for the first time since I was 15 or 16 – it's hard for me to believe.

'It's changed my life. I get annoyed, though, that some people call it the "lazy way out".

'I don't want people to think that I've sat around for the last 17 years of my life not trying to lose weight. I want people to know that this has been my only option to get this far.'

Amy has been taking a 15mg weekly dose since February, which she worked her way up to from 2.5mg.
