David covers a range of sports for the Daily Mail, with a particular focus on athletics and the Olympics. He has reported at the last three Games - London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 - as well as several other major events, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2019 Cricket World Cup, The Ashes, The Open and Wimbledon. He was previously The Sun's North East football correspondent after starting out on the News of the World's graduate trainee scheme. David studied English Language at Newcastle University and edited the student newspaper, The Courier.
