Robinson of Gurnee, Illinois, joined the Chicago Bears in 1998.
He played with the team until 2003, and during his tenure on the Bears, participated in some memorable games, including the first game following the death of Hall of Famer Walton Payton in 1999.
Robinson was the one to block a 28-yard field goal attempt by the Green Bay Packers to win the game 14-13.
That play is credited with ending a 10-game losing streak to the Packers.
'I think Walter Payton actually picked me up a little bit and boosted me up in the air because I can't jump that high. Walter had a lot to do with it. I know he did,' Robinson said after the game.

'The Bears and our fans will always be indebted to him for his game-saving blocked field goal in Green Bay six days after Walter Payton's passing.'
Results of an autopsy and toxicology reports are pending, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office.
Milwaukee Police say they are investigating the situation as a sudden death.
