Razor blades found in loaves of bread from Walmart sparks panic as 'person of interest' is identified

A woman has been arrested after razor blades were found inside loaves of bread at a Mississippi Walmart

Camille Benson, from Texas, was placed in custody by the Biloxi Police Department on December 16 and has been charged with attempted mayhem.

Surveillance photos of the 33-year-old, who was seen roaming Walmart, were released to the public before she was identified and placed under arrest.

Customers reported finding razor blades in loaves of bread and a banana nut muffin at Walmart on CT Switzer Senior Drive and the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Pass Road.

A report about the blades was first made on December 5, before another customer complained three days later. A third sounded the alarm at the superstore on Sunday.

Employees searched the merchandise and found several other products had also been tampered with, and notified police the following day.

A public notice urged customers who purchased goods from Walmart locations to inspect the loaves and report any findings.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.

'The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,' said Walmart in a statement to Fox 10.

'We have removed and thoroughly inspected all potentially affected products at impacted stores in Biloxi. We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating with them as they investigate.'

A man in Arizona was arrested for a similar crime in 2024 after spraying Walmart products with insect killer.

Charles Smith, who called himself the 'supreme villain,' filmed himself spraying Hot Shot Ultra Bed Bug & Flea Killer all over bananas, yams, lemons, tomatoes, rotisserie chickens, and more inside a Mesa, Arizona.

Smith uploaded a video of the crime, which has since been taken down.

He turned himself in after police contacted him, according to The Arizona Republic.
