Nicki Minaj doubles down on JD Vance after deleted tweet sparks 'Barbz' fan fury: 'He's an assassin'

Vice President JD Vance has staked his claim in the Nicki Minaj and Cardi B rivalry.

Vance, 41, stirred up controversy on Wednesday evening after taking a side in the long-roiling pop-culture war. The VP appears to be a member of Minaj's massive fanbase, commonly called 'Barbz.'

'Nicki>Cardi,' the VP wrote on X.

The two rappers' beef dates back years, culminating in 2018 when Cardi B threw a shoe at Minaj, hitting her in the head and leaving her with a bump. Since then, there has been bad blood between the two stars and their hordes of loyal fans.

The back-and-forth caused a groundswell of GOP support for Minaj.

'WHAT IS THIS TIMELINE?!!!!!' reacted Matt van Swol. 'THAT IS MY FUTURE PRESIDENT!!!!'

'Facts,' replied former Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz, who was recently pictured with Minaj.

Vance's provocative statement was in response to a now-deleted post from Minaj, who has penned a number of pro-Trump social media posts recently. The rapper has since published a flurry of cryptic and supportive posts about the VP.

'Vance>Rants,' Minaj, 43, had posted alongside a picture of the red-headed Chucky doll from the horror franchise 'Child's Play' on Wednesday.

It is unclear what the message meant but it was deleted after an outpouring of backlash from Minaj's rabid fan base over her embrace of the administration.

On Thursday morning Minaj struck again.

She posted a similarly cryptic entry writing 'Vance > Ants in the pants,' alongside an image of musician and businessman 50 Cent.

She also authored a long post praising the Republican for being 'an assassin' and 'quick as a computer.'

'Nothing brings me joy like the Vance memes & knowing he leaned into it like a boss Top Tier Comedy Character = 100 But make no mistake, Vance is an assassin,' she wrote.

'Don't debate him. On anything. Quick as a computer. Maybe quicker. He's the best blend I've ever seen of us&them.'

She also threw shade at Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom on Thursday. 'The Vance > The Gav Nots,' she wrote.

The flurry of odd political posts comes after a string of MAGA content pushed bu the rapper recently. Earlier this month, Minaj posted a video of Trump and Elon Musk dancing together, captioning the clip 'mood.'

She has also praised the president for his actions to end the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

'No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don't have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,' she posted in November. 'Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously.'

In another social media entry, which began with 'Dear Papi Trumpo,' Minaj asked the president in Spanish to grant her honorary citizenship. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, the rapper is not a US citizen.

Minaj's support for Trump has not come without cost, however.

Reports indicate that a number of celebrities ranging from Ariana Grande to Sabrina Carpenter have unfollowed the rapper shortly after she ramped up her pro-Trump posts.

Cardi and Minaj have political differences, too.

Cardi B endorsed Kamala Harris for president in 2024 and even campaigned for the Democrat. During the 2020 campaign, Cardi gave a soft-ball interview to Joe Biden, though she was later critical of the Democratic president.
