A violent brawl erupted on Chicago's notorious Red Line stop amid increased scrutiny on public safety of the city's transit system, footage of the chaos shows.
The video, circulating on social media, appears to show a group of unruly passengers fighting with K-9 Unit security officers at the Roosevelt Red Line station.
Several punches are thrown between the passengers and officers, while some officers are detaining members of the group.
It is unclear when the altercation occurred, and Chicago Police told the Daily Mail they have no records of service calls to the Roosevelt stop.
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) supplements police presence on the train system by hiring security guards.
The Daily Mail has contacted CTA for more information on the altercation captured on video.
The clip sparked renewed outrage over public safety on Chicago's transit system after a career criminal out on an ankle monitor allegedly set a woman on fire on the Blue Line.
'I thought the city was safe? Look at this. People fighting on the red line. A girl gets burned on the blue line. The city isn’t safe at all. Do your job right,' one person wrote on X.

'I want the National Guard here. I don’t know how anyone else feels about it, but I am so sick of this,' added another.
'I'm shocked there’s an actual presence of some form of authority. I’m glad I can drive and don’t have to rely on the CTA,' a third person wrote.
Bethany MaGee, 26, was doused in gasoline and set alight on the city's Blue Line last week, but managed to flee the train and survive.
The man police named her attacker as 50-year-old Lawrence Reed, a serial criminal with 72 prior arrests, freed months earlier by a judge after he allegedly attacked a social worker.
Cook County Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez allowed Reed to walk free in a separate case in August despite warnings that he posed a danger to the public.
Prosecutor Jerrilyn Gumila told the judge at the time that Reed needed to remain in custody and argued that electronic monitoring was 'wholly insufficient' to protect the public.
'It could not protect the victim or the community from another vicious, random, and spontaneous attacks,' she told the judge, according to CWB Chicago.
However, Molina-Gonzalez told the prosecutor, 'I can't keep everybody in jail because the state's attorney wants me to.'

Magee's alleged attacker Lawrence Reed has been arrested over 70 times and has had multiple felony convictions over the last three decades
Gumila's warnings allegedly proved true, as just weeks later, Reed allegedly doused Magee in gasoline and set her on fire.
Reed was subsequently ordered to be held without bail following the alleged attack on Magee, and he is facing charges including terrorism.
Earlier this year, a huge catfight erupted on the Red Line when a group of women started brawling on the notorious line on June 22 near the 47th Street Station.
In the horrifying clip, fellow passengers can be seen running away from the violence, as some can be heard calling out: 'No!', and 'break it up.'
Just weeks earlier, a Chicago police officer was attacked by subway riders while patrolling a station, also on the Red Line.
The unidentified officer was standing on the 69th subway station when three riders screamed at him before the confrontation turned violent.
One of the men swung at the officer, who managed to duck, but was knocked off his feet after taking a punch to the ribcage.
He was able to get up, but was immediately surrounded by the three men who swung at him multiple times.
The officer was hit again and was struck so hard that he fell against the stopped Red Line subway before hitting the concrete.
One of the officers managed to slip to safety while his comrades kept his attackers at bay until they walked away.
Other videos also emerged showing K9 units and their officers being attacked on the platform.
