A young dad is fighting for his life in hospital after he was hit by a motorbike and left in the middle of a busy road in Queensland.
Connor McLeod, 25, was crossing at the intersection of Kingston Road and Battle Street in Loganlea, 30km south of Brisbane, at about 5.40pm on Tuesday when he was struck by an unregistered trail bike.
Dashcam footage from a passing motorist caught the shocking moment the bike rider fled the scene after smashing into Mr McLeod.
The video showed Mr McLeod had legally crossed the road - walking on a green signal at the crossing.
Just seconds later, he was hit by the bike, with the force throwing its rider to the ground.
The trail bike rider was then seen picking up his bike after the collision and briefly looking back at Mr McLeod lying unconscious on the road.
Witnesses rushed to Mr McLeod's aid, with one claiming the bike rider 'hobbled' onto his bike before quickly fleeing the scene.
'(He) looked at the guy lying on the ground and was like "nope I'm not going there" and took off,' witness Kristan Simpson told 9News.
