Good Morning Britain fans were left seriously distracted by Kate Garraway on Friday as she revealed her 'painful' health battle just minutes into the ITV show.
The latest episode of the programme saw Kate, 58, and Ranvir Singh, 48, return to the studio to present the latest news and headlines.
As usual, Ranvir started the show by saying good morning to viewers, and Kate joked shortly afterwards: 'Who said that?!' which was then followed by some giggles.
Kate, who usually wears eye contacts and was rocking some new glasses, continued: 'I can't see a thing this morning Ranvir!'
'You're in pain, though, aren't you, a little bit?' Ranvir asked her.
And Kate explained: 'I've got an eye infection, and you know, I wear contacts as you know, and I can't wear my contacts, so I had to buy a pair of glasses, because my other glasses were broken, and I can't really see a thing.'

Ranvir told Kate: 'I'm so sorry about this. This morning, we're here to support you, though. We're here to support you...
'And a bit of giggling, because I do like your Harry Potter look though. I do quite like the Harry Potter glasses.'
She continued: 'We'll crack on, we'll get through it, won't we? We're here for four hours...'
Kate replied: 'We're here for four hours. Do you think I'll catch up by the end?
'Whatever you say, I'll go along with.'
Ranvir then said: 'Good look to Ed, who is on camera two this morning...'
Kate told viewers: 'He's had to come up so close, he's virtually touching my nose.
'Bring it in, Ed! Bring it in! I can't see a thing!'
Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out that Kate looked different
Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out that Kate looked different.
'Kate now sporting large glasses,' said one.
Another rushed to their tweet and replied: 'She explained why she’s wearing them. They’re not a fashion statement.'
Others said: 'Is it me or is Kate struggling with those glasses.'
'@GMB Is Kate Mrs Magoo?'
'Morning Kate & Ranvir! Kate, LOVING the SPECS, suits you!! Have a great weekend both of you.'
It's not the first time that Kate has shared with viewers that she's had an eye infection.
In July 2024, the star was seen rocking some glasses again on screen, which confused viewers.
She told her co-star Adil Ray: 'We know not everybody is a footy fan... by the way, if I'm looking a bit emotional this morning, it's partly the football, it's also that I've got a rabid eye infection.'
It comes after Kate climbed into a bin on Good Morning Britain to recreate a viral video of a woman who fractured her shoulder falling into rubbish last week.
During one segment, the programme played out the moment that Jane Green, 63, a former secretary from Carshalton, Surrey, fell into her recycling bin while trying to clean it.
Jane joined Kate and Paul Brand, 40, in the studio and was accompanied by queen of clean Lynsey Crombie, 46, to share tips on how to do it safely.
Kate confessed: 'I'm only 5ft2, you can already see the problem! So I generally get in it, and stand in it.'
She then glanced over her shoulder to co-host Paul and asked him to help her get in the bin.
Lynsey gasped: 'Oh my god, you're actually getting in it!'
'This could be a disaster!' Paul added.
As Kate stepped into the bin, he asked: 'Do you need a leg up?' and Kate told Lynsey to support the bin as she stood into it.
It was a close call as Kate nearly fell over and screamed live in the studio, but the pair managed to save her, all while Jane was standing behind them.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
