The son of Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere has received probation for shoving a woman's empty wheelchair down the stairs of an Erie, Pennsylvania bar earlier this year. Carson Briere, a former college hockey player at Arizona State and Mercyhurst, as well as ex-Mercyhurst lacrosse player Patrick Carrozzi have both been approved by a Pennsylvania judge to join a first-time, non-violent offenders program. Both men will be on probation for 15 months, and when those sentences are completed along with the court-ordered program, their charges of charges of second-degree misdemeanor criminal mischief will be dismissed and expunged from their record. Briere and Carrozzi are seen on a surveillance video at the top of a staircase of a local bar in Erie, where they push the wheelchair down the steps on March 11. Police say their actions posed a potential danger to anyone coming up the stairs, while also creating a hazardous condition by blocking the staircase....read
