The final whistle has blown and Houston wins the US Open Cup 2-1

The win gives the Dynamo their second US Open Cup win in team history.

Houston applied loads of pressure from the opening kickoff as Inter Miami often looked lost in possesion without Lionel Messi on the field. Jordi Alba was also absent from the contest.

Houston outshot Miami by a 19-11 margin although the only maintained a one shot advantage in the shots on goal cateogory.

The Dynamo first took the lead after Griffin Dorsey blasted a shot past Callender to give Houston the lead in the 24

Amine Bassi followed this up up by converting a penalty kick in the 33 to make the score 2-0.

Houston nearly went up 3-0 late in the game before VAR ruled the goal offisides.

Miami was able to eventually get themselves on the scoreboard after super sub Josef Martinez put the ball in the back of the net.

A final attempt on goal from Miami was saved on a diving effort from Houston keeper Andrew Tarbell in the 95 minute that stopped the game from going 2-2 with only moments to spare.
