Sheer jubilation at the Bridge

Sometimes you've just got to let the pictures do the talking.

An extraordinary ending to the game.

Rosenior's impressive impact

Liam Rosenior will be the happiest man in west London this evening, you'd imagine.

That's now six wins from seven since he took over from Enzo Maresca earlier this month.

Let's remind ourselves of the Chelsea boss's results so far:

  • Charlton 1-5 Chelsea
  • Chelsea 2-3 Arsenal
  • Chelsea 2-0 Brentford
  • Chelsea 1-0 Pafos
  • Crystal Palace 1-3 Chelsea
  • Napoli 2-3 Chelsea
  • Chelsea 3-2 West Ham

YOUR COMMENTS: 'That should be Garnacho's farewell game'

Now this is one of the best parts of the night: sifting through the mailbag to see what you all think.

Let's have a rummage, shall we?

First up, we have the aptly named 'It's not over yet' writing in to say:

Great second half but Rosenior got it so wrong in the first half.

'Sir Cecil', writing in from San Fransisco in the US, adds:

That should be Garnacho's farewell game. Sterling would have contributed more.

And 'Football Judge' has some words of advice for Rosenior, saying:

Next beat Arsenal to go to cup final and win a trophy before Arteta in 2 [months]

Garnacho's terrible first 45

Now this, this is damning.

Alejandro Garnacho was one of three Chelsea players to be hooked by Liam Rosenior at half-time.

You can click below to read the Argentine's stats during a 45 minutes he will NOT want to watch back:

  • West Ham vs Man United (February 10)
  • West Ham vs Bournemouth (February 21)
  • Liverpool vs West Ham (February 28)

Redknapp: 'Reason for Nuno to be optimistic'

Nuno was visibly devastated by the way his team collapsed in the second half during his interview with Sky Sports.

But Jamie Redknapp believes there is enough in his West Ham team for him to remain optimistic.

Speaking on the broadcaster's analysis of the game, the former Liverpool midfielder said:

[Nuno's] probably thinking, "How on earth are we going to keep this team in the Premier League", because it's such a big body blow for them.
But once he starts to watch that game back, and he looks at that first half, he'll think, "If I can get my side playing like that, we'll have a great chance of staying up, absolutely no problems whatsoever.
As much as he's hurting... there are positives there. That first half was magnificent. They could've been three or four nil up. They weren't an unfortunately they were taken apart.
But there will be positives he can take.

Nuno: 'We defended badly'

Nuno Espirito Santo's been speaking to Sky Sports after the game. Let's see what the Hammers boss had to say.

First up he was asked what he told the players at half-time. He said:

[I said] we needed to defend and to do things properly. Keep the same idea. Control the game, manage the momentum. We knew Chelsea would react but we defended bad and we should've done better.

On what changed at half-time, he said:

I have to see to assess properly but I think we could avoid it. Crosses that came into our box. Of course they have numbers there but we had bodies to control it better.

Asked if it was a natural reaction for his side retreat, he said:

Yeah but it's not what we should've done. We should've kept the same idea from the first half.

Chelsea's next five

On that topic, let's have a look at the next five Premier League games for Rosenior's side, shall we?

Let me know how many points you think they'll collect, too.

Here they are:

  • Wolves vs Chelsea (February 7)
  • Chelsea vs Leeds (February 10)
  • Chelsea vs Burnley (February 21)
  • Arsenal vs Chelsea (March 1)
  • Aston Villa vs Chelsea (March 4)

How far can Chelsea go?

Chelsea are up to fourth in the Premier League as it stands, but Man United will be keen to leapfrog them again when they host Fulham tomorrow.

But that result got me thinking: what is the aim for the Blues this season?

Champions League qualification is surely the minimum in my mind, but feel free to let me know if I'm wrong!

Cucurella: 'We spoke at half-time'

I'm going to be less effusive in my praise of Liam Rosenior than my colleague Mr Power and ask, did the Chelsea boss maybe get it wrong?

Making so many changes before the match clearly backfired but, credit to him, he realised and made the changes at half-time.

Marc Cucurella in particular was a revelation for Chelsea in that second 45.

Here's what the Spaniard had to say in a chat with Sky Sports:

At half-time we speak, in the end its about our mentality and desire we showed in the second half, we are very happy.
[Rosenior] said it's about us, if we go to press, want the ball, play with confidence, we will get the chances to win.
We have very good players, a very good team, since the start of the second half we showed a lot of energy and desire. If we play with this energy we are able to win at lot of games.

Nuno's disappointment

I'll tell you something, I really do feel for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Full credit to Chelsea, but Nuno got it completely spot on during that first-half.

His side could've been three or four up!

He'll be disappointed with the way it ended (just look at his face watching Todibo trudge off the pitch) but, given where they were a few weeks ago, it's a pretty sensational turnaround from the Portuguese boss.
