It's first vs second in Sunday's first Clasico of the season as Real Madrid take on Barcelona at the Bernabeu.

In what the Spanish papers are calling 'The Clasico with a British accent', Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold are up against Marcus Rashford.

That’s a wrap from Madrid

A fiery El Clasico, a few flashpoints, and another moment of brilliance from Jude Bellingham.

Real Madrid stretch their lead to five points at the top, while Barcelona are left stewing over missed chances, a suspended manager, and a long journey home.

Thanks for following along - we’ll be back for more La Liga drama soon. Until then, adios!

Bellingham: 'We were really waiting for this game'

Jude Bellingham, Real Madrid, post-match:

We were really waiting for this game. We know we lost to them multiple times last season, so we were waiting for this and we needed to win.
This was a team win, a team effort. Defensively, Militao, Huijsen, Carreras, Fede, Carvajal, they were all so good.

Alonso: 'I'm so happy to have Jude back'

Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid boss, post-match:

I'm so happy to have Jude back. We knew he would need a few games to get back in top form, and now he dropped 3 top performances in a row. He's so good.

Alonso: 'There are different personalities in any dressing room'

Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid boss, post-match:

Vini's character? There are different personalities in any dressing room, right now we will enjoy the win, then we'll have a conversation, for sure, there's no problem.

Carvajal's message to the fans

Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid:

We witnessed an incredible atmosphere today! Thank you so much, a part of this victory belongs to you. We have to keep going, we stay top of the table and let's go for more!

What’s next for both sides

Real Madrid march on. Xabi Alonso’s side go five points clear at the top of La Liga, and they will not have long to enjoy it — Valencia visit the Bernabeu on Friday night before a huge Champions League trip to Anfield next week.

Madrid have now won 12 of their 13 games in all competitions, and with Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe firing, they look every inch like title favourites.

For Barcelona, it is back to the training ground and back home. They face Elche at the Olympic Stadium next Sunday, with Hansi Flick’s suspension served and a few key injuries expected to clear up before then.

Plenty of time for reflection after this one — but El Clasico has made the picture at the top of La Liga crystal clear.

A bit harsh...

First to say that it was not one of Yamal's finest nights in a Barcelonas jersey. The youngster looks to still be carrying an injury after being rushed back to action. But that won't save him from the savage commenters on social media.

Rashford leading the way for Barca

Marcus Rashford’s impact keeps growing in Spain.

The England forward has now scored or assisted 10 goals this season, more than any other Barcelona player.

That puts him ahead of Lamine Yamal on eight and Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres on six each.

Rashford’s assist tonight was his first goal involvement in El Clasico, and judging by his form, it will not be his last.

How the full-time chaos kicked off

That post-match scuffle had been brewing long before the final whistle.

Tensions boiled over after the final whistle as Real Madrid players confronted Lamine Yamal, with several pointing towards the winger as tempers flared.

It follows Yamal’s barbed comments before the game, when he appeared on Gerard Pique’s Kings League channel and compared Madrid to a team that 'robs, complains, and does things'- a dig that didn’t go down well in the Spanish capital.

Reports in Marca claimed Madrid’s dressing room were 'fed up' with the teenager’s antics and had discussed his remarks in training as extra motivation.

So when the 18-year-old endured a quiet night at the Bernabeu and Madrid sealed a 2-1 win, those frustrations spilt over and that appears to be how the full-time flashpoint began.

Madrid make it count

According to xGPhilosophyEU, Madrid racked up 4.02 expected goals to Barcelona’s 1.15, which tells the story — Xabi Alonso’s side created plenty and deserved the win.

Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham got the goals, while Lamine Yamal struggled to make an impact on a tough night for the visitors.

Madrid go five points clear at the top, and it feels like a big one in the title race.

Sliders on and ready for a scrap

I think Alonso will be having a few words with the Brazilian after his antics today.
