Manchester United's chances of signing Tyler Adams have reportedly been boosted following Chris Armas' appointment as assistant boss.
The former Toronto FC manager, 49, joined interim boss Ralf Rangnick's backroom staff at Old Trafford earlier this month after being granted a work permit.
The duo will reportedly be looking to reinforce United's defence and midfield in next month's transfer window.

And The Metro claim the club could look to versatile RB Leipzig star Tyler Adams, with Armas a huge admirer of the 22-year-old.
The pair worked together for three years when they played and managed MLS outfit New York Red Bulls respectively, with the USA international equally adept in midfield as he is at right-back.
Adams joined the Bundesliga outfit from New York Red Bulls in 2019 and has been a regular all season but particularly since former Schalke boss Domenico Tedesco took charge earlier this month.
Adams - who has made 20 appearances across all competitions this term - still has three-and-a-half years to run on his contract, but it is yet uncertain whether they could be convinced into selling him if United made an offer.

United have also been linked with a move for Kieran Trippier, but Sportsmail understands the Atletico Madrid star is ready to quit the Spanish champions to join Eddie Howe's Newcastle.
The 31-year-old England international is at the top of Howe's wish-list having previously signed him for Burnley in 2012.
Meanwhile at United, Diogo Dalot appears to have usurped Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the club's No 1 right-back, having started both Premier League games under German Rangnick.
