The longer this torturous journey with Youssef Chermiti goes on, the more it looks like punting the big centre-forward out on loan might well be the best hope Rangers have of getting a return on the £8million splurged on him by Kevin Thelwell. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it's hard to see how it's ever going to work out for Chermiti in Glasgow. That awful miss against Dundee United in midweek, putting a header wide from point-blank range when his team was 2-1 down late on and it looked easier to score, just felt like the point of no return. One goal in 16 outings just isn't acceptable from a signing of that magnitude, no matter his age or experience. The sight of him gesturing to the Ibrox crowd - having a go at questioning his worth, it seemed - after a jammy effort that the Kilmarnock keeper let slip through his fingers back in October still hangs round his neck like a millstone....read
