The New Year for me is all about taking care of myself and setting healthy routines for the year ahead. And one way I achieve this is by ALWAYS scheduling a spa visit during the first month of the year.

This year, I decided to visit New York City’s premier spa destination — the SoJo Spa Club. The top-rated, luxe spa is just across the water in New Jersey and features floor after floor of unique spa experiences from sauna to pools.

We headed to the SoJo Spa Club to reset for New Year with skincare at our side.

But when it comes to visiting the spa, you have to remember to pack all your essentials, and I’m not talking about an extra hair tie — I’m talking about that fancy New Year skincare routine you promised yourself you’ll stick to!

Naked Sundays SPF 50 Clear Facial Sunscreen Serum

When you are visiting the spa you need to get real about protecting your skin.

Even though you will be relaxing, the infrared lights and high temps can be a LOT on your skin. My go-to SPF brand is always Naked Sundays!

This little bottle lasts forever and goes on like water with all the protection you need.

belif Retinol Firming Eye Serum

Eye bags? NO thanks!

I recently started using this Korean Beauty eye serum and have never looked back. This was my first item in the bag while packing for the spa.

It has a creamy texture and the applicator is so pleasing on the skin. The brand has tons of other formulas to play around with too!

In 2026, I am prioritizing my skin, so I packed a simple yet effective bag of must-haves for my visit to SoJo Spa Club.

The first item I never skip is SPF! A lot of women head to the spa without thinking about the impact it can have on their skin. Infrared light, extreme temperatures, they all come together to test your skin's barrier, especially during the intense dry month of January.

My go-to sunblock has been and always will be Naked Sundays. The celebrity-loved brand is famous for a reason, and their SPF truly is superior, specifically the Naked Sundays SPF 50 Clear Facial Sunscreen Serum.

My skincare essentials from under eye serums to full body lotions!

My skincare essentials from under eye serums to full body lotions!

This lightweight water-like serum protects your skin while adding gentle hydration, and it is made for all skin types, including sensitive skin, too. Before heading into the spa, I coated my face in this serum.

What I love is that it is waterproof, so as I moved between SoJo’s incredible Hydrotherapy Pool and my favorite Himalayan Salt Sauna, my SPF stayed on confidently.

If you have ever been to a spa, you know the likelihood that you’ll leave covered in sweat is extremely high. While enjoying the various saunas that the SoJo Spa Club has to offer, including my partner's favorite, the Charcoal Sauna, which was a whopping 187 degrees, I found my body head to toe (and especially my face) drenched in sweat.

Although sweating is incredible to release tension and stress from the body, it isn’t always the best for skin (hello, acne!). That’s why your post-spa skincare routine is so important.

Mario Badescu Coconut Body Butter

After the spa I need to rehydrate my skin and Mario Badescu is owner of my absolute favorite skincare brand.

This body butter is seriously soft on the skin and it smells like a spa vacay. I use it after my spa visits every time but also at home after showers too.

Anytime my skin is wet I use this to lock in the moistures while my pores are open!

grace & stella Caffeine Under Eye Patches

Self-care for me starts with under eye patches or face masks honestly!

This brand is my go-to on Amazon because they're affordable, glitzy, and effortlessly cooling. I store mine in the fridge and after the endless hours spent in the sauna I definitely needing the refresh.

After hitting the showers and washing off my relaxation reminiscences, I started with a product I could recommend to anyone — Mario Badescu’s Coconut Body Butter.

While your skin is still dewy, you want to immediately lock in moisture with a hydrating lotion! I use this one because it smells decadent, is sensitive on the skin, and feels like literal butter going on.

Next step in the routine? Face! I go in after moisturizing with the belief Retinol Firming Eye Serum and lock that in with grace & stella Caffeine Under Eye Patches. Together, my eye bags stand no match (and let’s be real, eye patches feel incredible).

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Viral for a reason!

This Lip Mask is famous with celebrities and I am just as obsessed. The berry one is my go-to and it seriously is so hydrating. I use it after my skincare routine morning and night.

Innersense Organic Beauty - Hydrating Travel Hair Trio

As a curly haired girly I can not play around when it comes to hydrating my hair, especially with unwanted frizz and knots.

I am a die hard fan of the brand Innersense and this little trio set is perfect for any on-the-go hair needs. I brought their leave in conditioner along for my SoJo Spa Club evening.

To finish off my SoJo Spa Club routine, I gave my hair some attention, of course. I swear by Innersense for all things hair, from shampoo to leave-in conditioner. I packed all of the above with me to make sure that as soon as I stepped out of the spa, I was refreshed and reset.

If you want to start 2026 off right like me, you need to head to SoJo Spa Club — trust me. And make sure to bring along my editor-approved skincare to set the habits that will have your skin glowing all the way to 2027!
