Champions League favourites Arsenal shorten further with Sky Bet following favourable draw

Arsenal entered today as 10/3 favourites with Sky Bet to win their maiden Champions League title, following a stellar group stage in which the Gunners finished top with eight wins from as many games. 

Already the market leaders, Mikel Arteta's side have shortened further to 9/4 following a favourable draw today.

They will face German side Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 16, who currently sit sixth in the Bundesliga and have yet to replicate the heights of their invincible 2023–24 season. 

Adding to the optimism for the north London club, they have not only drawn a manageable opponent but have also avoided European heavyweights such as Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Chelsea, all of whom are on the opposite side of the draw.

If Arsenal get past Leverkusen, they will face either Bodo/Glimt or Sporting in the quarter-finals - a tie they would be favoured to win. 

Should they advance to the semi-finals, a more challenging test awaits, with potential opponents including Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Newcastle, or Tottenham. 

While still a tough path, it is widely perceived as the less daunting side of the draw compared with the other half.  

Meanwhile, if you're tipping Arsenal to not get the job done, Bayern Munich (5/1) and Barcelona (6/1) round out the three favourites in the market.

Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool are 15/2 and 9/1 respectively, while reigning champions PSG are also 9/1.

Lastly, for those anticipating Real Madrid to claim a record-extending 16th UCL title, they are priced at 11/1.
