Punter takes home incredible £22,542 Cheltenham jackpot from £10 bet after rank 66/1 outsider landed huge upset to beat Sky Bet

One lucky Sky Bet punter landed a stunning £22,542 payout from a £10 each-way treble on Day 2 of the 2026 Cheltenham Festival.

The first leg of the bet came in the day’s opening race, the Turners Novices’ Hurdle. The punter selected 11/1 shot King Rasko Grey, who stayed on strongly up the hill to finish more than two lengths clear of Act of Innocence.

The victory set the tone for the day, giving the punter an early boost and raising hopes for a big payout.

The second leg clicked in the Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle (Premier Handicap), where Nicky Henderson’s Jingko Blue (9/2) justified favouritism with an emphatic performance, powering six lengths clear in the two-mile-and-five-furlong contest.

With two winners already on the board, the bettor needed just one more leg to collect a cool £22k. On paper, however, it looked the most unlikely of the three selections.

Remarkably, it came off in dramatic fashion as 66/1 rank outsider Martator caused a huge upset in the Grand Annual Chase, getting up by a nose to complete the treble and secure the £22,542 windfall for the Sky Bet customer.

The victory brought celebrations not only for the punter but also sparked excitement across the Cheltenham stands as racing fans witnessed one of the festival’s most remarkable upsets.

Attention now turns to Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival, which gets underway today with another stacked seven-race card set to whet the appetite of racing fans.

The afternoon is headlined by two eagerly anticipated Grade 1 contests - the Stayers’ Hurdle and the Ryanair Chase - both of which promise more top-class action.
