Liverpool target Timo Werner could be denied a summer move to the Premier League due to the coronavirus, according to RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche.
Werner has several admirers in England with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all said to be keeping tabs on the 24-year-old German.
The RB Leipzig star has previously talked up a move to the Premier League but the likelihood of Werner joining a rival European club has decreased due to the coronavirus.
RB Leipzig star Timo Werner could be denied a move to the Premier League this summer
Krosche, speaking to Sport1, said of Werner leaving in the summer: 'It is clear that Timo has attracted interest from other clubs for his great performances with his goals and assists.
'England has the same problems as we do. The crisis affects not just one league, it has a global impact, and we cannot say whether things will be the same in six months.'
German hotshot Werner has scored 28 goals in 40 games for club and country this season
When asked if it means Werner could stay, Krosche added: 'Everything is possible.
'We do not know how the transfer market is developing. We are looking into a very foggy glass ball. We do not know what our resources are and what the other clubs have in terms of opportunities.'
RB Leipzig eliminated Tottenham from the Champions League in their last game before the coronavirus put a stop to German and European football.
They are third in the Bundesliga behind leaders Bayern Munich and second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
