Trump blasts 'hideous' claim by Candace Owens directed at Erika

The Trump administration has blown a hole into Candace Owens' conspiratorial claims that Turning Point USA was engaged in financial fraud. Owens, who has aired various damaging claims against Turning Point in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, alleged that the charity was under IRS investigation. The appalling smear had led some donors to demand refunds from the organization now headed by Kirk's widow Erika. Owens told her audience: 'I am making a personal plea to every well-meaning person who donated to this Godforsaken organization to request a refund.' But now the Treasury Department has intervened and sent a private letter to Erika Kirk to reassure the CEO that Turning Point is not being probed.

Turning Point USA Inc., Turning Point Action Inc., Turning Point Endowment Inc. and America's Turning Point Inc. have all turned in their required 990 forms to the IRS this year 'on time,' according to CBS News, which reviewed the letter. 'The IRS is able to provide this type of information upon request by the taxpayer,' a senior Treasury official told the outlet. 'And in this case, it's hideous that malicious lies and smears obligated her to make the request,' the official added.

Blake Neff, a producer on 'The Charlie Kirk Show,' recently poured cold water on 'claims of financial impropriety and fraud at Turning Point adding up into the millions of dollars - which, again, is not true.'
