For those not ready or willing to try salmon sperm injections - also known as polynucleotide treatments - there’s now a new skincare oil that lets you tap into the viral beauty trend from home.
Rodial, Princess Kate’s rumoured favourite beauty brand, has launched the Salmon DNA Water Oil, an easy-to-use facial oil, offering a fuss-free way to deliver Polynucleotides (PDRN), RejuveNAD™ and Epitensive™ to support cellular renewal, boost collagen and improve firmness and elasticity - and at a fraction of the cost of regular salon treatments.
Curious about Polynucleotides? The new Rodial Salmon DNA Water Oil lets you add it to your skincare regimen from home.
The Salmon DNA Water Oil can be used in three different ways. Used as a treatment, finishing or boosting step in your moisturiser, it delivers both a water phase to deliver Polynucleotides (PDRN), RejuveNAD™ and Epitensive™ to boost collagen and improve firmness and elasticity, while the nourishing oil phase strengthens the lipid barrier to lock in hydration and prevent moisture loss.
After two years of formulation, 42 iterations and countless hours of research, Rodial have created the first of its kind bi-phase oil
Polynucleotide or PDRN treatments are certainly one of the biggest skincare trends of the moment. Originating in Korea, they have become the treatment of choice for those looking for a healthier, juicier complexion.
While in-clinic treatments can cost hundreds per session, Rodial has launched an at-home alternative in the form of an £150 oil.
Undoubtedly a more convenient (and comparatively affordable) way to explore one of skincare’s most talked-about innovations, it could be the hack to support skin renewal and achieve a smoother, more radiant complexion from the comfort of home.
A K-Beauty staple and TikTok viral sensation, PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a naturally derived molecule from salmon DNA that has been found to be effective in wound healing, reducing inflammation (which is great for post-acne marks and redness), and stimulating collagen and barrier repair.
Never one to shy away from unusual skincare ingredients (the brand has famously used bee venom and cow placenta), PDRN is the hero ingredient in Rodial's latest product.
The Salmon DNA Water Oil is a lightweight bi-phase water oil with 59 per cent active ingredients that mirrors professional treatment methods
Enter the Salmon DNA Water Oil. Using the DNA fragments extracted from salmon sperm, the bi-phase water oil delivers a clever new step in your routine designed for powerful skin regeneration with deep barrier repair.
In fact, the Salmon DNA Water Oil can be used in three different ways.
The Rodial Salmon DNA Water Oil took two years to make, and with 42 iterations and countless hours of research, it's the first of its kind bi-phase oil with 59 per cent active ingredients that mirrors professional treatment methods.
Offering both instant nourishment and deep-layer rejuvenation, the clever formula makes it a very versatile product for the price tag, so you essentially get three uses in one.
The oil phase reinforces the lipid barrier, locking in hydration and essential nutrients to prevent moisture loss helping skin look plumper and more hydrated
To use it as a treatment, I applied two drops to clean skin after applying my usual serums to support hydration, skin resilience and barrier strength. I found it sank easily into my skin and left it feeling more supple.
The brand also says you can use it as a finishing step by pressing a few drops onto the skin as the final step of your routine to lock in moisture and enhance radiance. While I would prefer to use my usual moisturiser, the Salmon DNA Water Oil has a non-greasy texture that I could see working here too.
I did love the process of mixing a drop with my moisturiser; however, I loved the idea of upping the ante on my typical routine to elevate nourishment and glow.
Leaving my skin instantly soft and bouncy, I will be eager to continue trialling the Rodial oil and see what difference it can make over time.
